Some people just don't understand how 4WD works.. nice vid btw:)
-
@SiNgLe4everq8 incorrect, i believe first attempt was 4x4, and the second was with traction control. ie, center diff was locked, but no lsd or lockers. as the video clearly states
-
@SandCommander does that also work on an o6 commander? if so, is it the button with the car with the lines behind it, because i thought that was traction control
-
first attmept 2WD
the secode 4WD
-
@SandCommander i think you meant to say the left front right? the right front tire was on concrete and had traction. The left front was the one spinning with no traction
-
Very nice, this system looks like it works very well for a scenario like this where you'd basically have a wheel off the ground with no traction. I would personally disable the ESP in the snow or flat terrain though because if you were going into a turn and lost traction it would try and straighten you out which, in a turn, will just make you understeer off the road. I'd rather have a controlled drift then understeer. I have an 01 Grand so we dont get any of this fancy traction stuffs ;)

Lock your dif bro

@LovePontiac Open Diff.

sooo basically an electronic engagin locker

Yes they stay engaged up to 90 seconds or until the computer can sense that no slippage is taking place. They act like normal lockers.

lacking balls offroad. cant even send dirt flying! should i remove the abs fuse?

Its the ESP and Traction Control System that prevents the wheel spinning.
You should turn off the ESP by pressing the ESP button for 5 secs until "ESP OFF" is displayed in the dash.

I don't understand why it couldnt get up in the first part. This is 4wd right? Shouldn't the front wheels have been able to pull it up?

The front right tire has no traction and all the torque going to the front axle was going to it.
