Here's another old one. Obviously we didn't know what this song was about. In the video Michael is the one being followed(by John Smith of course). Oh well. From Michael's Japanese getup to our work with the flashlights, I have to say this video is a classic to us.

  • May I recommend the book 'A Concise Guide To Eighties Music' by Karl Vorderman. The author is a big fan of this track.

  • @SaddleSoreSista1 I think Ms Steele left an open invitation for rumor, as far as ones about her sexuality are concerned, in the form of this song. What boggles the mind is that there's even any need for secrecy surrounding matters of sexual preference in this day and age. Good for her. It's not like I ever had a shot with her, anyhow.

  • happy birthday michael :)

  • @MermaidBlueFins I don't have the answer to that question of whether Michael Steeles, is gay, bi or straight, most discussions around Michael Steele's sexuality are based on pure rumour. I like the song Following, and find the ambiguity in the lyrics intruiging. But then many of her lyrics are like that, who she is speaking about in the song isn't explicitly stated.

  • @SaddleSoreSista1 Is Micki a lesbian or bi?

(Sorry I used Micki, I saw a pic of her when she was briefly in the Runaways and her shirt read Micki Steele)

  • @gh9448 She was with them briefly tho, but she left again.

  • This is one of my favourites and I think if released now as a single it would do very well. Its an extraordinary song written and sung by Michael Steele. What is most intriguing is the ambiguity in the lyrics. The gender of the ex-lover is not explicitly stated, although ambiguities in the lyrics suggest that the narrator may be referring to a female ex-lover. Steele has indicated that Following was derived from personal experience, stating in a 2003 internet chat: "high school sweetheart."

  • one of my FAVORITE SONGS.....
