Should i use a 301 redirect when changing my home page title?

My Question:
A link on a side page ranking 0 (Main page ranking 3) pointing back to my site,
Does Google consider this a good link, or would this link have more power coming
from the Main page?

Kind Regards

Thanks for the clarification Matt, I feel like lots of folks can't grasp this concept. Your video will be great for future reference...

It depends on if the shortening service is using 301 redirects or not, Google will just follow whatever the shortener is doing.

New redirect sites crop up every day, make sure you pick one that does what you want it to.

No, as long as the URL redirect services use a 301 redirect, the site doesn't get counted, it flows PageRank and everything else to the site that they redirect to.

The actual (destination) address gets the PageRank. The shortened URL is treated as if it never existed (except to be followed to determine where the link is supposed to really go.) In other words, any TinyURL link is treated as if the larger link to the original address is really embedded in the page instead.
