Want to save the planet? Look no further than your own attic. The biggest impact you can have on your home's energy efficiency is to stop the heat loss that occurs in the attic. About 40% of your heat is lost through that space. I talk about how important a proper insulation installation is and how spray foam insulation can be the most effective material for your money, especially in the long run. In this case, this is a very good investment. The payoff is anywhere between 4-10 years.

  • Is its almost one year afer you put the insulation. Is it still working great? No mildew? Great video. It helped me a lot.

  • @Jastericka80 Thanks! No problems with mildew. I did spray the underside of the roof-deck with boric acid (1:4 ratio with warm water) before having them come in and spray it. Icynene is an open-cell foam. So when we had a small leak, the water did pass through it. But amazingly, it dried up without issue after the leak was fixed.
