SFSU Chamber Singers - Tides of Ocean

San Francisco State Chamber Singers, under the direction of Dr. Joshua Habermann, sing Tides of Ocean, music by Matthew Orlovich (b.1970) on text by Victor Carell, at St Boniface Church in Anaheim on Feb 26, 2008.

Tides of Ocean was written for The Australian Voices, a choir dedicated to promoting the voice of new Australian choral composers and the Australian choral idiom. The text describes a southward-bound sea voyage, waves crashing, timbers creaking, fish flashing on a moonlit sea, and the anticipation of a joyous homecoming from seeing the Southern Cross constellation, only visible from far enough south in the world.

@radmuffin917 I didnt try out for all state cause I'm dumb like that. I have study hall in the choir room so I heard this song everyday for 2-3 months. Getting to the point, I love the fish flash part :)

Mathew Orlovich is one of my favourite composers, and I have had the pleasure of being able to do several of his pieces in Australian choirs. He's a lovely person, and its wonderful to see his work being globally appreciated.
