Sikorsky H-19 delivering supplies for the First Medical Batallian/Marine Division
Some people commented on why I used the music I used? My father was a musician and loved brass. I thought this was a good piece as you helicopter pilots know flying is a balancing act somewhat like dancing.

  • Real perfect. But I find the music don't fit.

  • wow awesome beauty, this heli rocks! And what a hell of a pilot.... Liked :-)

  • Man, that's some rough, herky-jerky flying there! So different from what we're used to now. I guess they were low-time guys. My dad was in the Marines back in the mid-1950s, and flew HRS's (1, 2, and 3's) and I wondered if any of those cowboys were him? Dug through the garage and found his old logbooks, and thankfully saw that he was in HMR-262, not 161. (And if I'm not mistaken, the S-55 was one of only a few a/c that were used by all four branches plus the Coast Guard!)

  • Love that Helo. Ugly as sin but lots of character. I was working on one recently...5/5 but odd music choice...

  • Nothing gets in the way of the HRS!

    5*****

  • Actually USMC, HRS-1 Sikorsky's of HMR-161. H-19 was the Army designation for the Sikorsky S-55. Great video.
