A short but effective way to play piano by ear - particularly if you've had lessons but want to play using chords.
I did this video to capture what I learned by trial and error as a teenager. Since then I taught it to my children after they've first had a good foundation of piano lessons - in literally a 15-20 minute session. It's worked very well for them to be able to become quite versatile at playing by ear. I hope it can be of help to you, too.
you are an internet deity, what you did here makes youtube so great and powerful. you gave me an 'aha' moment that my maths teacher once spoke of, but ive just experienced it for the first time. you have inspired me more than i suspect you will ever know.thank you. j

Hi Bill great info here. Would you be able to publish a pdf with chord progressions as you performed in this video? So we can actually see and understand how you combine progressions and modulate from 7th's to suspended chords etc. That would be nice. Cheers

This is fantastic. Please keep it online. I keep recommending it to people. We would all be stuck without it!

*PHEW* Man, I'm so glad I found this video again after a few months, I thought I had lost it !! Took me some searching. You should put a book or an online movie download together or something together. I'd buy it. Customer number 1. You explain piano-things so concisely.

This video is severely under-watched and under-liked and under-exposed.

Man, this is really fantastic Bill !! You explained these concepts so well. This is really one of the best most straight-to-the-point videos I've seen so far. I love it !! Thanks so much for making it. --Carl.
