  • Notes & correction. This is indeed the first compact cassette recorder - model EL-3300 - you can tell because there is no separate motor speed controller like which was installed on the EL-3301 follow-on model.

    The 'treble' control is actually thhe record level control.

    Yes this is the EL3300 1st Cassette Recorder (introduced as Pocket Cartridge Player/Recorder. EL3300 had no motor control circuit, so does not play great). Belts dissolve in time hence the RUBBER BAND used in this one. EL3302 was the Mk2.
