@GTBurns48215 No, they revisited the 1st film, because it was a better idea. Cost cutting was not a major issue during the 2nd and 3rd films, since the 1st one was such a huge success.

The Back to the future series films all perfectly tied in together, even though the 2nd was originally planned to take party in the 1960's but as a cost cutting measure they revisited the 1st film. Which actually worked out much better.
