The LP "Bobbie Gentry & Glen Campbell" was released in September, 1968; recorded that same year at Capitol Recording Studio, Hollywood, CA. Produced by Kelly Gordon and Al DeLory.
Gentry and Campbell's harmonies resulted in a gold record and three hit singles.
"Gentle on My Mind" was written by John Hartford (1937 - 2001); the song won two 1968 Grammy Awards. Hartford himself won the award for Best Folk Performance. The other award, Best Country & Western Solo Vocal Performance (Male), went to Glen Campbell for his version of Hartford's song. Glen Campbell's performance of the song had been played on the radio more than 5 million times.
