A classic old "Chevy II Nova" commercial from 1967. A decent looking car, however the color of the commercial itself is badly faded.Taken almost-almost-directly from an episode of "Bewitched", in fact I left in a brief bumper for the show.

  • There was an episode of Bewitched where all these old bags were coming out of a ladies volunteer meeting into a parking lot and each one of them was driving a high performance Chevy. (Corvettes, Camaro RS , Malibu SS 396 etc) Turns out they volunteered Sam for a committee and needed to burn rubber getting out of the parking lot. It was wierd.

  • @thdog52 This is from "No Zip in My Zap".

  • Chevrolet was the primary sponsor of "BEWITCHED" during its first five seasons (1964-'69); they even made sure their various models were also seen within virtually every epsiode {that's one reason why Darrin owned a new model every season, and its constant exposure}....

  • @fromthesidelines That said, a lot more subtle than today where they squeeze the credits to promote some show or product. Sure, they put the sponsor logo in the corner back in the 1960s, but by comparison that is a lot less annoying.

  • Thumbs up if you got your Nova from a relative as a first car...

  • Well, General Motors didn't exactly "sponsor" "I DREAM OF JEANNIE", 'kdemonde' (Liggett & Myers, Colgate-Palmolive and Procter & Gamble were among their sponsors during the run of the series). They did, however, provide automobiles for the series' use- usually Pontiacs- without "official" screen credit. In the case of their Chevrolet division, that was a primary sponsor of "BEWITCHED", and that meant constant "product placement" on their behalf.

  • @fromthesidelines Yep you're right, Darrin & Sam had a Caprice convertible & an Estate station wagon just like Tony Nelson (I Dream of Jeannie) kept a Pontiac in his driveway being sponsored by Pontiac. LOL!

  • Ahhhhhh my favorite old tv show....waaaaaay better than this stuff out now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't care for the 4 door Nova much though!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • ...however, Quaker Oats was the "altenate sponsor" (1964-'68), and they sustained this 1967 episode. The custom was that the third commercial break (after the "Back In A Moment" bumper) was the "alternate sponsor's" message...and Chevy filled that spot in this episode.

  • This commercial may have aired in 1967 but the model of car in the commercial is a 1968 Chevy II Nova.
