This is a video of 8mm Movie clips my father Sam Pando took of my brother Mike's graduation in 1967. Principal Roger Thurston is in the video and at the end you will see our Beloved VP Mr Hannigan. Mr Hannigan was instrumental in seeing that I graduated High School and started me on a road to success that if not for Mr Hannigan, I would never have achieved becoming Captain of a Boeing 777. Thank you
Mr Hannigan. Dave Pando

  • Not sure when the new MHS was built. I graduated in 70 and then went into the USAF. I returned in 76 and I believe the new MHS was built already. I know several of the teachers were classmates of mine in the late 60's. Kamataris, Rigney, Collachio. Chuck lives down here in Florida now. I'll be posting more video of Marlboro soon. Just been busy lately. I have a lot of other videos posted on Youtube also.

  • Joe Hannigan! So nice to see his face. I graduated in 74 and left Marlboro in 76

Mr Hannigan was a great guy and always treated me well. Thanks for the video.

  • @TheMadStork83 At the time I was there mid '77 through '78 the only window that opened was in the Science Wing in the Astronomy Lab. Mr McGowan (God rest his soul) worked hard to get that window, we needed it to set up mirrors to follow and direct the sunlight into the telescope inside the lab. Of course, there were filters to keep from frying our eyes, but we could monitor the sunspots, prominences and other features. Mr McGowan put so much work into that lab, he was a great guy.

  • @TheMadStork83 I'm not sure, but that is the impression I got the first time walking into the foyer, seeing the open floors with the railings, I expected to see guards walking about!

  • @wtglb Oh ok, sweet. I was apart of the first class that went into the new middle school back in January of 99.

Didn't the person who designed that building, designed prisons? Hence why there are only two, maybe three, windows in the entire school, that open?

  • @Harleypilot767 What a great video! Nice to see Mr. Hannigan, he was still VP when I graduated in '78. Chuck C is my cousin.

That is wonderful that you are a Captain of a 777, my hat's off to you!

  • @TheMadStork83 1978 (my class), was the first class to spend their full Senior year at the new MHS. The class of '77 was the first to actually graduate from the new school, but we moved into the new school in Jan '77 I think

  • MyMom's class was the last graduating class from the High School on Main Street. That was 1948. My graduating class in 1976 was the last class from the 1st school on Bolton st. (The one in the video)

  • So when was the current Marlborough High built? I should know this since I attended Marlborough Middle & High.

  • Love this video! I miss Mr. Hannigan as he was a friend and principal! Any more great vintage MHS clips? I was class of 79!
