on libby's commutation -- from their own mouths!

on july 2, 2007, the president commuted the portion of scooter libby's sentence that required jail
time. he did this while mr. libby's
appeals were still pending. on june 5, 2007, he said he would not intervene while appeals were pending.

but he also said he'd take the violations of law very seriously.

so seriously that he grants relief
to convicted criminals that haven't
even bothered to ask for it.

astonishing.

taking -- and the commutation came from

a man clearly implicated in the wrongdoing

he pardoned/commuted libby's sentence on. . .
