Cakewalk introduces the new A-PRO Series, USB MIDI Controllers for Mac and PC. The A-300 PRO (32-key), A-500PRO (49-key) and A-800 Pro (61-key) are brand new keyboard controllers developed in conjunction with Roland. The A-PRO series focuses on intuitive real-time performance and ergonomic playability, making it a must-have controller for soft-synths in a live or studio setting. This new line gives musicians the best of both worlds: Cakewalks legendary ease of use and Rolands world-class engineering and keyboard expertise.

  • Hehe MIDI controllers were originally Edirol I think, then they were branded Cakewalk and now, when I bought it, it's branded Roland instead of Cakewalk, I don't understand Roland's marketing really :))

Apart from this confusion, IMO it's a very good controller, both keys and controls look and feel very pro (compared to most similar products of other brands which remind me of china toys).

  • Thank you for the great and inspirational tool!

  • @krotracer it depends of what kind of DAW you have for me i have fl studio wich you have to midi learn the slider or knob to you selected synth but you might have to midi learn you sliders to and volume controll or make sure you have did the midi learn right

  • I have the a300 pro and only the keys, drumspads and octave knobs work, can someone tell me how I can also use the sliders play, stop, record and all the other buttons?

  • would this be good for industrial electronic/darkwave music? and also New wave?

    hi there.

Aftertouch is MIDI data sent when pressure is applied to a keyboard after the key has been struck, and while it is being held down or sustained. Aftertouch is often routed to control vibrato, volume, and other parameters.

  • cakewalk, when are you bringing out an 88 hammer action controller keyboard?

  • Hey guys! could anyone tell me what 'channel aftertouch' is? thanks!
