A video made to showcase some of my favourite gear.

70's Gibson L6-S
Mesa/Boogie Mark 1 (1990 re-issue)
EHX Holy Grail (effects loop)
Boss DD6 (effects loop)
Engl 412 V Pro Cab, close mic'd Shure SM57
Rode NT-1 Room Mic

The idea was to record 3 layers of guitar, with very different tones, and dub them over one and other to create a brief instrumental track one part at a time. The track as a whole can be heard somewhere around two minutes in, but where's the fun in that?

If you like this check out my lessons, covers and originals on youtube, or www.reverbnation.com/samvallen for recorded tracks, free downloads too.

Thanks for watching!

  • No such thing as a 1969 L6S. You make it sound good, though...

  • @jamestlenahan lol, I fixed it in the title up top but obviously can't in the video. It's amongst the first runs of the guitar in the early 70's; very hard to date exactly.....

  • Sounds like a modern and epic version of Debussy. Good video!

  • @iLEE Thanks man, huge compliment, I'me a big fan of Debussy.

  • I have a L6-S like yours that has the natural blond finish and the neck pickup has no cover and eleven pole pieces on each side of it. Ebony fingerboard. Love your vid and the way you gave the guitar a chance to shine. Good on ya. Thanx for the post.

  • Lovely to see someone put their heart into a demo for once... bravo. Very nice

  • Really great playing man, thoroughly enjoyed the video. Nice to see some footage of the reissue Mark I - it's a great, great amp.

  • @samvallen man it is awesome i got one and well still tring to work out a few kinks in it, it was abused by it's former owner. will post when i get it sounding the way i want it to.

  • @bluesman1981 Can't say I've ever played one mate. Looks nice though from the google search I did....
