3d Ocean

This is the result of a little experiment of mine. I was trying to create a mildly turbulent ocean surface using only standard modifiers in 3dsmax, without the aide of any plugins such as Dreamscape or others.

Like I said in the video description, I din't use any plugins to make this. I used a simple plane surface, and I added: 2 wave modifiers,a noise modifier and one ripple modifier. On top of all that for the fine details I put a displcemant map. For the displacement map I used a celular map. Also keep in mind that although it's just a simple plane primitive, for all the details to be clearly visible, the surface has a lot of poligons.

really nice animation.

i also wanted to create such an animation with daylight,but if i put the sun at this altitude,my whole animation gets eye blinding white instead of slightly shaded.i only can create evening or night renders.do you have any idea where i could fix it? im using autodesk max 2009
