One of the best video game series of all time with some of the best music of all time! Doesn't get much better! Marty O'Donnell made so many awesome versions of the main Halo theme, so I mixed several versions together in my arrangement. All sounds are from the East West Quantum Leap libraries (orchestra, pianos, choirs, stormdrums) and my Ernie Ball/Music Man John Petrucci BFR 6 plugged into my Mesa/Boogie Roadster. I know the guitars are mixed back, but I didn't want them to be more important than the orchestra. Also, I recorded the audio first and made the video later because I was focusing on recording, not performing. Be sure to also check out the version I made with just the orchestra! Enjoy!

  • Dude, that is so incredible! I can't believe you're the same guy that did the split personality video for Wizards in Winter! Man, you are such a confident player. I seriously hope you are playing with a band. I'm going to send you a message with a video of the guitar player I play with. He's a country, finger-style picker and incredibly fun to play with. Keep up the great work!!!

  • @mickeydougal Thanks! I plug away at it continually and am always trying to improve. :)

  • This is great! At 1:45 is that a special kind of dive-bomb or something?

  • @farmfarmer It's a harmonic on the 17th fret (I think) of the G and B strings, and I just pulled on the whammy bar to raise the note instead of diving down. The BFR 6 has a great floating bridge, so even though you can't do as much crazy stuff as with a floyd rose, you can still do some pretty crazy sounding stuff! :)

  • Awesome job,Would you share your recto settings?

  • @RonnieD50 I use the 3rd channel (the Roadster has 4, but the 3rd has the best crunch imo) with the gain at about 1o'clock, bass at about 9o'clock, mid at 1o'clock, treble at about 11o'clock. I'm sure you could vary quite a bit from these settings--it's hard to get a bad tone out of the amp. Don't forget that about that last 25% that makes or breaks your tone comes from your fingers!
