Michael O'Hanlon: Cuts to pay and benefits for men and women in uniform wouldn't be a very popular idea, but there is room for targeted cuts to weapons programs, especially those that have grown quickly. More: http://goo.gl/7TKE2
The mouthpieces in Washington for the military industry make all sorts of stories why the US cannot afford to cut military spending, EXCEPT to cut the salaries and benefits of military personnel. The soldiers who risk their lives can make the sacrifice but the greedy contractors cannot. It is all a total deception. Syria, Iran and China are not a threat to the US, and all new technologies can be kept on file and put into production should the US be "attacked". The US can easily cut $1 Trillion.
