Nothing that Mastodon does sounds like their earlier works. And saying that Mastodon "screams to your face" clearly shows that you haven't listened to their last three albums. Song is good, sounds like Mastodon and is clearly not pop.

I get what you are saying but this song shows there real taste in music. During the making of crack the skye brent had made it known that he hates all the screaming that the band had been doing and hoped that they would go with a more groovy stoner rock proggy feel sometimes. thats this song. Also, whats wrong with trying to emulate led zepplin a little?

eh mastodon never really had a certain genre to stick to in the first place. crack the skye is living proof of that compared to songs from remission. this doesnt seem like a pop rock track to me, it reminds me of Sabbath in a few ways but only mixed with Mastodon's might. but i respect your opinion dude
