FADE Trailer (2006)

An Orwellian drama touching on the philsophical side of human existence, FADE follows an emotionless and obedient work named Chloe. Chloe accepts her existence at face value. By happenstance, she encounters Anna, who inspires Chloe's exploration into the beautiful and lonely outside world, and eventual transcendence.

Lifting primarily from the cultural theory of Louis Althusser, this is an examination and provocation of meaning, of cultural human construction. Gentle in its tone, minimalist in its structure, but powerful in its message.

Shot in 2006 as part of my thesis at the University of Minnesota, it has since appeared in theaters, art galleries, and college classrooms all over the world - most amusingly, in Istanbul.
