Agreed. CHUD was definitely worth a watch and a late night scare for you and your gal. Bud the CHUD was pathetic and a definite stray from the original.

If only it had stayed low key there might have been another CHUD film :-D I only remembered it because it was so damned dreadful. It did however have an uncredited cameo by Robert Englund (Freddy himself) I got Englund to sign my VHS tape of CHUD 2 at a con. in 1993. Then he asked me to burn it. Robert is one cool guy.

there was a sequal. CHUD 2: Bud the CHUD. Unfortunately it fell victim to the mid 80's "monster comedy" with two college idiots stealing a CHUD and having zany madcap adventures trying to hide it. Freakin' lame and a nail in the coffin for the CHUD franchise
