It's a damn fine improvement on Cher's version but Hayley Westenra did the best cover but all congratulations should go to Kate Bush for a beautiful song

@NoeJRangel I haven't seen the Timothy Dalton one no, i'll have to get it. The Fiennes/Binoche one is my fav out of those i've seen, but agree the one in our minds will always be the best- book lovers will never truly be happy with screen adaptations. I don't personally think Gemma Arteton has the range to play Cathy...she pouts well though, i'll give her that! I haven't actually heard anymore about the new remake though, i'm starting to think i made it up! x

@NoeJRangel having said that, I really like the 1939 version, the one with Laurence Olivier and Merle Oberon. I think it's really good... but, again, so much is missing. There's never going to be a definitive version, I don't think, but the one on our minds. :)

Have you seen the Timothy Dalton one? I haven't... I'm a bit curious.

@ethelshallow Why did I not see this... a month ago?! :) Natalie Portman is a really nice actress, except on the Star Wars film, but really, you can only do so much with the scripts you're given...

I haven't seen Gemma Arterton in anything other than the Clash of the Titans remake. She was ok, got to play the 'Sexy' Obi-Wan role. :)

That is truly a hard question.... I WANT to say that this one because I love both Ralph Fiennes and Juliette Binoche, but really... it's missing a lot.

@NoeJRangel Its my favourite too :) Yes, he is to young and just not a good 'fit' i dont think. Hopefully he will prove us wrong though! Natalie Portman was gonna play Cathy, which would have been great in my opinion-Gemma Arterton has the role now though. Shame. Which adaptation is your favourite?

@ethelshallow I have never seen Gossip Girl, but a simple google search leads me to believe that the actor is just not right for the part... for starters, he's way too young to play ol' Heathcliff, don't you think? Ah, who knows? It's my favorite novel, so I'm very, very protective of it as well. :)
