I think that there is one more thing that people forgot. When you see the Sonic sticker, note that there is only Sonic on it. This basically confirms that there will be no more Sonic Playable Characters. That means no Knuckles, Tails, or Shadow as playable characters.

they did blot it out in tha trailer so that means they WILL be there if they werent there theyd leave it like that

Yeah, that icon is pretty clearly ness. There you see a blue bill on his hat on the side, which is what ness wears. Pokemon Trainer's hat has a white bill facing forward and a white circle on the front, which is distinguishable as shown when you highlight groudon. Even with such a small image. it's pretty easy to tell who's who

Well do note that there's only room enough for so many third party characters. Sonic is in, and that's really all we need. All the supporting characters can easily get Assist trophy roles, and that's all that's necessary

perhaps not as playable, but if snake has an assist trohpy from his games, sonic surely does as well

No, no. The first picture. As you see, the cursor is on a Claus sticker, a character from the MOTHER series. There you see, Ness, and Lucas. The picture on 0:30, shows Pikachu, PKMN Trainer, Lucario, and Jigglypuff.
