1980 Sabine Baesz - Tassillo Thierback Olympic LP

An internet German friend of mine ask me to post the 1980 performance of Sabine and Tassillo.

The pair enterred the competition as World Bronze medalists, and could have challenge for a silver, if not gold medal had Rodnina faultered. But, a slight mis-step on the timing of their short program lift left them way down in the standings.

The same life as was missed in the short program, goes off without a hitch in this program. ;*(

@nondescriptnyc I think if you investigate a little bit, you will find it is actually Candide Overture by Lennard Bernstein.......skip to the end of the overture, maybe about 80@ of the way, and you will find at least this first section!!!! best wishes

Thanks so much for posting! I was so hugely dissapointed for them in 1980 because they had done so well in the preceding season--all the way through the pre-Olympics competition in Lake Placid right before the Olymics! I am so glad that they had their success later on.

Anyhow, does anyone know the music they are skating to? Dick appears to be saying at 1:06, "Rhythmiture Overture," but "rhythmiture" is not really a word!

At the 1980 Worlds, they landed the first to my knowledge throw triple toe loop with this long program.
