SO GOOD. It was passionate, explosive and endearing. An unbelievable performance. And she pulled it off without a hitch, infront of the President of the United States. Talk about nerves of steel. Electroman076 is just jealous of her speaking ability. I bet she would run circles around him in any kind of debate, including a left wing, right wing debate, which I still don't understand why he thinks is relevant...

@electroman076 It's beautiful because it speaks the truth. There may be no "Hawaiian Race" but there is a distinct Hawaiian culture. Hawaii, unlike other states, has a native language. Ans this Hawaiian culture is losing meaning because younger generations no longer take the time to look into their history to place meaning behind long-standing traditions. She's not just listing her lineage, she's talking about understanding the past to create a better future, about not forgetting who she is.

@electroman076 There is more to poetry than Shakespeare and Keats. There is art. And there is an unexplainable phenomenon that happens when self-expression, eloquently expressed strikes a nerve. Some people feel this. Don't try to dissect everything. Don't throw your politics into this. Don't dirty someone's heartfelt tribute with your psychological projections. Shut up, and enjoy the poetry. If you don't, do the world a favor, and press the power button on your operating system.
