BCM 2010 has the capability to send personalized email messages to your selected contacts, but it's not very straight forward. I have created this video to give a step by step tutorial of how you can accomplish this procedure.

  • Hey no criticism of your tutorial intended. Sorry I came across that way. I meant that it's BS that you have to filter to a category, i.e. Microsoft should have created a more intuitive way of achieving this.

  • @jhscann Opps, sorry I took it the wrong way. I'm using MS CRM 2011 now but I'm pretty sure there are other ways to filter contacts on BCM 2010. Using categories is just how "I" did it in this demo.

  • Thanks - I was going crazy and had posted questions to a number for forums. The use of Categories in this context is BS. Filtering is only useful if you're mining a large amount of data for mailshots or shotgun telesales campaigns - i.e. useless of you're trying to maintain campaigns with fewer numbers of high value prospective customers..

  • @jhscann In what context? If you'll read the title of this video, you notice it says "MASS EMAIL", meaning meaning "MANY". If it doesn't fit your needs, then don't use it. I created this tutorial for one of my client's (Brantley) specific needs. But since it's BS, then I'm sure you've posted another video demonstrating the proper way to do this in "your" context. So where is that video jhscann?

  • I want to embed a jpg into a mass email. I don't want it to appear as an attachment so want my email to be in html format. What is the best way to do that? Upon testing in bcm, even though creating the email in html format, it seems to take the jpg and attach after clicking launch. Would setting up through word, as hown in your tutorial, and embedding the image in word, circumvent this? Thanks.

  • Hi, I really liked your tutorial. It was very simplified, but explains everything necessary. Im learning how to use BCM for an internship, and I was wondering if you could do more tutorials on other tools... for BCM for Outlook 2010? That would be great. By the way Im subscribing so you have to do others ;) Thanks blue people

  • @whiterol Is there an upgrade path to MS CRM? After several months of finding little workarounds for stuff which should just work I'm ready to change!

  • Thanks a bunch for your time and posting this video - exactly what I was looking for. "Saved me hours...."
