  • "systematic misfiling" is when they're under orders to only help a certain number of people, and then the rest get shelved and ignored unless there's a convincing complain. It's standard in many government programs.

  • Nation wide WCB plays dirty pool when it comes to back injuries. I have a lower leg crush injury and have to fight with them on a monthly basis. Keep asking for stuff, keep fighting for what you have. They will try and take everything from you if you let em.

Ok so here's the truth. Worksafe does have funds in excess of 5 billion. They are required by Canadian law to have that amount to cover all current and future cost of injured workers. A quadriplegic cost a staggering amount of money over a life time. Especially if they are injured at a young age. The money that is earned in that fund goes right back in to cover claims cost's. Thats why Worksafe BC has the lowest rates in north america (look it up)

  • @Assimilate71 I feel for you Christina, my wife is in the same situation wondering how I am going to provide for my family. I am in your husband's trade and have lost the use of both of my arms. I have been battling WCB for 2 years and am losing everything that was any value in order to keep ahead of our bills. I will be going back to work while I have an "accepted claim" that they refuse to compensate me for. My experience is that WCB's sole purpose is securing corperate and political profit.

  • Here's a piece of info for all workers wondering why they aren't receivinge adequate coverage. On a yearly basis, WCB BC reports nearly $1 billion in surplus. They put half of it back into contingency funds and currently hold nearly $5 billion. With the rest of it, they pay for operation costs and invest in Global market funds in which they profit an average of 10%. While people like Lorne are having their asses wiped for them, WCB continues to push policy and deny claims in the name of profit.
