Animo Justice's closure exposed the charter-voucher industry for the money making sham it is. Green Dot's Marco Petruzzi lied by telling the Animo Justice community that "We have no money. We're a non-profit. We don't have a rich guy that even [sic] gives us extra." Suddenly Eli Broad, William Gates III, The Walton Family, Reed Hastings, Donald Fischer, et al aren't rich guys?

Petruzzi also went on record to say "Closing Animo Justice makes sense because it has not equaled other Green Dot schools in performance." The truth is Animo Justice Charter High School actually outperformed three other, or 20% of Green Dot's local campuses. In other words, Animo Justice wasn't even in the bottom quintile of Green Dot's perpetual bottom dwellers in terms of performance. Green Dot, like all charter-voucher schools, represents privatization and a disenfranchisement of communities.
