New Jersey Piney Power show: Some Dying Pines at Cattus Island County Park

A revisit to yet another beautiful Ocean County Park in Toms River. Unfortunately the sky doesn't completely cooperate with us, as usual.
Heading out to the islands I see alot of dying Pitch and some Shortleaf Pines, I can assume from the Pine Beetle infestation that has become a problem due to the lack of prolonged cold in winter. I was pretty angry about this!
Once at the beach I take some time lapse video to show the stalled clouds over us. Heading back I get some of the best footage ever of the graceful Egret and Blue Heron! I also take you on a brief tour of the Cooper Nature Center, which has an extensive exhibit of the various animals once can see in this area.

Some great pines..Some incredible birds...Great beach footage..Nature Center was outstanding. Especially that one great turtle coming at the camera.

@gmcbuses This coming week, this week in London, England nice summer warm temps in the 60s, 70s. 2 weeks from now it is also predicted the same weather. In New York prediction is cloudy, cold, rain for the next 10 days. Why can"t New York City have the wonderful weather London, England is having, had. What is funny is they are way North, they are having very beautiful weather. It is like New York City's weather is cursed. Why can it not be nice here?

The fact of the matter is New York City has had some very terrible wet cold weather. 2 freezing cold winters in a row. 2009 to 2010, 2010 to 2012. Winter of 2008 to 2009 was also freezing cold, snow storms. This winter, last winter big storms. Last spring and summer was good. The spring of 2009 was terrible. It rained almost every day. Get a load of this London, England only had 2 weeks of winter. Last 2 weeks of December. Everyday there pretty much it has been sunny, temps 40s and 50s.
