i have re-curing prostate infection and have been on doxcenlyne and bacterium, they both dont help, only cipro seems to work,( i have taken it 1-3 times a year for over 17 yrs!!! anyone know of any alternatives? i thank cipro might be the cause to my anxity isues , nervos breakdowns and all over body pains and ahces.

try myofacial massage therapy. it is normal to have bacteria in the prostate. you should not be taking all that cipro. myofacial massage forces blood into the prostate. prostatitis, which you are describing, is an autoimmune problem, inflammation, not infection. don't even believe what the sensitivity tests say, they are tainted by the drug companies. Hi John. I hope you manage to recover by the 5th year at least. It's amazing that we experience so many symptoms... and it seems you were one of the worst kind of reactions. However even though you've been through a lot, you still look quite healthy. It's annoying that when people look at you it seems you're normal, but have no idea whats going on inside.

You're the dummy! Levaquin is poison! Why don't you give it to yourself or your loved ones and see what happens?!? I took just one 750mg dose over a week ago and am still suffering from excessive insomnia and tingling in my feet and hands. I pray this is short-lived since I went against my doc's advice and quit taking the drug after the first dose when I had horrible hallucinations, nightmares and 2 trips to the ER thinking I was dying! The FDA has had their palms greased on this one!

My sister who was a medical doctor took levaquin for broncitis AND DIED IN HER SLEEP!!!! DO NOT EVER TAKE THIS DRUG...EVER!!!! EVEN IF YOU KNOW SOMEONE WHO TOOK IT WITH NO SIDE EFFECTS!!!! If you have anyone in your family who has ever had an irregular heartbeat, YOU should be immediately disqualified for its use. Please understand, many people do not even know if they have an irregular heartbeat, so don't think you know who in your family does!!! This guy is absolutely telling the truth!

@kanp4christ @kanp4christ that is absolutely correct; those dangerous fuckers are good at recommending a corticosteroid with or right after taking this abomination of a medication. this medicine is actually a biochemical weapon against humans and bacteria. If you only knew how it damages the body, one of the SEVERAL ways it destroys the body is by inhibiting the conversion of HMG-Co A to mevalonic acid, which impairs cellular integrity and reconstruction, & causes destruction of muscle fibers.

Wow....I hope you are at least getting better. Started taking Levaquin 9/6/11 because Amoxicillin was not working for a bacteria infection maybe from sinus and throat the doc says. I didn't read the side effects from the pharmacy until 2 days into taking it. I did finish my 7 day treatment. I wish I did my research. It is now 9/16/11. Having problems sleeping through the night (always waking up). My thighs are hurting like someone punched them.

I'm sorry for your issues. For what it's worth, this drug was a life saver for me after battling pneumonia for two months. I did have some mild tendinitis for about a month after 30 days on this drug, but it resolved completely. It also resolved some underlying issues with another condition which I had for years. It was a LIFESAVER for me. Amazing how different folks can have different results from the same drug.

Just because you didn't have side effects it doesn't mean anybody will have. You were lucky and I wasn't.... I have no reason to make this thing up. I didn't share my story for you to make fun of me, but to alert others from the dangers of those antibiotics. I really wish you the best in your recovery .... and please learn not to make fun of other people's problems because tomorrow it can be you in my position. god bless

@aballetti Im not sure what you are saying, that the patient is at fault? Symptoms??? You mean effects. Not even sideeffects but terrible effects from this crap. What do you mean dont try to blame the pharmaceutical company- I was given Levaquin during surgery and was unaware. I have been crippled by this.
