95%...98%...this is really not much of an argument against evolution. What is important is understanding the phylogenetic tree and how we are most closely related to chimps, then bonobos, gorilla, orangatangs,...and so on.

The last time humans had a common ancester with chimps was before australopithecus, and that was over 4 million years ago.

I suggest taking a look at a few vids from CDK titled "evidence for evolution."

I just wanted to say, isn't 98.5 percent identical preety damn close? But I also want to flip this. If we came from them, then why are they still here, and why aren't they moving ahead at all?
