On Being French and British, Writing Novels & Loving Literature...
Joanne Harris is the author of award-winning novels which are published in over forty countries, among which Chocolat, Blueeyedboy and The Lollipop Shoes. Tatiana de Rosnay's novel _ A Secret Kept_ has finally reached bookshelves in the UK and is already an international best-seller, just as Sarah's Key was before, whilst her latest novel, Rose, has just been published in France. Both authors are amazing writers, both are part French, part British, both have drawn inspiration from their favourite 19th century authors... pleasant coincidences which have prompted the Institut français to organise this talk. The event was chaired by Greg Mosse, programme leader for creative writing at West Dean College and co-director, with his wife Kate Mosse, of Chichester Writing Festival.
