We had a representation of the puzzle that we had a computer solve off line (A* algorithm). This gave a sequence of actions that we exported to the robot.
The robot then implements the solution.
All track detection, such as tracking the black lines, detecting intersections and determining how far to turn, that is done by the robot. When it finds an intersection it uses the sequence we found off line to determine which action to take.
