@davidwebmastah It's called vamping, and Knopfler didn't add a lot to this performance, though I think usually he is great.

Did Knopfler owe any money to Clapton? I mean, it's hard to understand Clapton's behavior during this performance. As far as I can see, Knopfler is his guest on the stage and Clapton does not help him at all. He even strums on Knopfler's solos all the time, not a wink or a smile, a hint to support Knopfler. Also, pace of the song is too fast as if Clapton was willing to finish asap. Not warmth at all. And, when they finish, he quickly vanishes from stage. Am I being paranoid? o_O
