A friend of mine just bought a beautiful Sea Rey. He flew it from Forida to Louisiana with no trouble at all. These are great little amphibs. I didnt get any shots of water ops because I was flying at the time. I was having so much fun I forgot to grab some footage. We took off from the Chris Crusta Memorial Airport (0R3) in Abbeville, LA. Flew south towards Avery Island. For those not from the area; Avery Island is where Tabasco Sauce is produced. There are intercoastal waterways, lakes, and rivers all over south Louisiana so an amphib is the perfect plane to have. We then headed southeast towards Patterson, LA (KPTN). Along the way we did some low approaches over the lakes of Fausse Point state park. It is funny to see the boaters reaction when an aircraft painted in Coast Guard colors settles down next to them on the water. Everyone slowly starts putting on life vests and hiding the booze. We then flew up the Bayou Teche over New Iberia and did a few runway landings and a seaway landing. We then headed back to base in Abbeville. It is an amazing little plane. Not a performer by any means, at least with two people on board. It does have all the bells and whistles though. Push-to-select electric flaps, electric elevator trim, electric gear retraction, glass panel with steam back-ups, fuel computer, etc. The best part is sliding the canopyopen in flight. I hope to get some more footage to post here.
Good job Buddy. Looks like you're keeping her in good shape. I miss that thing very much....keep up the good work.
