@alegniadigger Then those 'unmanageable horses' need better trainers, not f#$&ing drugs as an easy fix!
-
@alegniadigger I think this vet needs to read some of these posts - maybe she could learn a bit about a drug she recommends and administers. None of the vets in my home town will use it - I find it very very hard to trust any vet now due to this. Fortunately there are now 3 that I will trust - I wont bad mouth the vet that gave the shot but I will advise people of what happened.

Thank you for posting this tough video. I wan't aware. I'll remember this drug's name. I'm glad to hear your horse baby pulled through and is making the most of his life.

I have a filly i sent to the trainer and she did so good the shows he rode her and after that when I tried to ride her in a show she was a total different horse!! Spookey and not confident!! We have since figured out she was drugged for the shows!! Looking at others he has they misbehave the night before and are angels for the show!! rugs are not a replacment for training and like mine can get me hurt thinking she is trained!!

this is so sad what a beautiful horse :(

Tranq should only be given in case of medical emergency, NOT for behavioral issues. And it shouldn't be given by people who don't know and obey exact dosing instructions. As for this horse... I would have euthanized him a few hours in. No sense in making him suffer for five days straight. If he's got permanent brain damage, he's not exactly fully recovered, is he?

People who have to sedate or drug their horses should NOT even OWN a horse. Drugs are a crutch for the owner's lack of knowledge of how to train a horse. The horse owner gains respect and control over a horse when they become the head of the "herd". And the only way to do that is thru proper training and gaining the horse's respect thru moving his feet. A with people, drugs are NOT the answer. Hard work and training IS!

let a horse to be a horse. Dont try to fix everything with drugs.

I am so sorry this happened to your horse. You said he has recovered, but then you also said he had brain damage. Was the damage from this drug? What dod the vet who gave him the wrong dose say after she made that mistake? Did you sue her? I would have.

i feel so bad that this happened. but you have helped thousands by posting this and i am SO happy that your horse is better!
He still has a tick that was brought on by the Fluohenazine. I appreciate the comments, both good and bad. This video was posted in hope to show people what can happen but also to make sure the vets that people use know what they are doing.
