my mom hast the same illness. gosh i love this song. it almost makes me cry.

Wow, an exceptionally promising young songwriter who suddenly found she had Multiple.Sclerosis beginning to lose control of her body-- essential to musicians-- the lines, "That what you fear the most, could meet you halfway..." Chilling, and I think more than a little autobiographical, does anyone agree?
Thanks for posting this! Where were you?

Yeah, I didn't read the comments and it's MS-- how embarrassing. Love Vic. Only gave it 4 stars cause the backup singers should have done just that! Wish Vic's video they showed back when "Loose" and "Sweet Relief came out was on YT. Eddie Vedder/Pearl Jam skips some of her words, forgets, or mutters, Lou Reed can't harmonize and Vic doesn't have her former vocal balance or physical ability to support a guitar she seemed to have a decade ago. Seems so unfair, but a delight she still plays!

she's original anyway, i'll give her that

Vic is having problems with her equipment. You can clearly see her frustration from the start. Check out the sound guy who is talking to her in the last few seconds. I saw Vic a few months before this show and she was GREAT! (My daughter and I met her afterwards and she seemed in very good shape and spirits.) I've seen more recent on YouTube that have also been very good. Vic is a perfectionist; she's always been known for that. She'll re-start a song in a heartbeat if something's not right.

I know it's a bit shambolic, but I can assure you that the audience loved it. It probably doesn't translate so well on this recording, but she sounded excellent.

That muscular dystrophy (I *think* that's what she was diagnosed with around 1990) must've taken a toll on Vic. This is only half as good as her performance of this really GREAT song on "Loose".

It's Multiple Schlerosis I think. She was so amazing, and I can only imagine how excellent she must have been before her illness. I think part of the performance was the audience's delight that she was even performing at all.
