LOL I remember when devil may cry 3 was first released here, that arsehole game took 2 months to complete... but I did it YEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!!!!

Nintendo 8bit NES had quite a bit difficult ones. I think i'd replace Contra with first Turtles, Robowarrior or Goonies II. How about Shadowgate? Nevertheless like your list. :) Not that Metroid, Master Blaster or Bionic Commando were easy either.. or Rygar! Man just too many. If looking of MMORPG's, Ultima Online definetely has quite brutal learning curve especially on PVP part.
