The second in a series of verification tests on an Aerojet AJ26 engine that will power the first stage of the Orbital Sciences Corporation's Taurus® II space launch vehicle. The test, conducted by engineers at NASA's John C. Stennis Space Center supports NASA's partnerships to enable commercial cargo flights to the International Space Station.
I think it's wild to think that an American company is using surplus rocket engines from the failed Russian N1 moon missions. Not only that there are plans to produce a USA built version of this design for the new SLS rocket.
