  • Loved the video. I ache for the "old days". Wish I could have taken a road-trip down Route 66 when it was in its prime. All the charm, innocence, and fun is gone today, but at least we still have photos, film, and memories of a better era. Thanks so much for posting the video.

  • You should have allowed a bit more time to actually SEE what the picture is with all the fadeouts there was no time to see what the shot is. nice vid just the same thank you

  • Flagstaff Arizona,

    Don't forget Winona!

  • I remember as a kid traveling along route 66 in the back of my dad station wagon we took the whole summer to go from one end to the other. it was the best summer of my life . Thanks Dad I miss you

  • @migoratia unimimaginiably beautiful in this age. thanks so much

  • This may be the best vid I've ever seen. The subject, the media, the truth all sparkle as something we must want again. Our civilization is changing and the trend has not been good at all. Fight. Thanks so much for this beautiful panorama. Perfect.

  • @elamite66 Thank you.

  • @drmms Sure thing part of it is that the old Route66 was bypassed so it didn't have the commercial value without the masses of traffic it used to have However a lot more of it is that it's out west in open country and a lot of small towns that were in sparsely populated agricultural areas were being depopulated by mechanization and the loss of many family farms replaced by huge corporate farms with much smaller group of emplyees instead of the families and their many full and seasonal helpers

  • I got a very small taste of what happened to Route 66 when I was a kid back in the late 1950s Route 9 north of New York was Replaced by an interstate type highway and the old Route 9 at least what they didn't tear down for the new one became a backwater but nothing like what you see in this excellent video especially as Route 9 was so close the New York, it ran from New York to Albany

  • Could anybody explain me why the abandonned buidldings and streets? I dont live in USA. By the way, very good song. I like Nat King Cole so much.

  • @migoratia

I second that emotion !!! Very well said !!!
