CXO Sustainability Network brought to you by: http://www.littlefootinc.com/
Don Gudaitis, CEO of the American Cancer Society New England Division http://www.cancer.org/, discusses the importance of green building and sustainability in relation to the prevention, treatment, and elimination of cancer. Don describes how the green aspects of the Gold LEED-Certified AstraZeneca Hope Lodge Center in Boston, a temporary residence health care building, have helped to create the healthiest environment possible for lodging patients who are undergoing cancer treatment. The solar hot water system, installed by Littlefoot Energy, reduces heating hot water costs by 50% by using the sustainable power of the sun. Don also discusses how green building helps non-profits raise money. The American Cancer Society will continue to set examples of how to create healthier environments for everybody by means of green building and sustainability.
