  • "2 major reasons: i dont have to pay for it" - the death penalty is more expensive that life in prison.

"closure for whoever is involved" - if you need to kill somebody to feel closure, then you are a sick individual.

  • wow! Thou shalt not kill!!! only when in the proper context though!!!!

  • HEY, Moblogic, what does the name mean? &, why do you make such short videos? Why are the opinions of the people cut so short? Sometimes, it is evident that peope dont have time, or a lot of other problems that would otherwise elongate the interview; however if people spoke longer, and the videos were longer... it would sometimes give more body to the subjects. Above, for example, I didn't feel like there was much elaboration on the topic, that I really left it knowing more, etc. Wha duya tink?

  • If we're interested only in what the death penalty does for us, vs. the rights of those being put to death, then shouldnt we be asking what death does that we cannot do better? If death is a form of protection&punishment (p&p), cant we be using such questionable accounts to our advantage in ways other than this p&p, death? For ex. how much would science--&thus society--have benefited had we indepthly analyzed every account of those killed. Are their deaths more bcus our fear, or their crime?

  • no, moonman, joshua is talking about the usage of the word kill as it was both translated into old english and how it shoudl then be translated into modern english. Kill and Murder as verbs are used differently. What joshua said is correct. A mere webster's is not going to help you out, you need to dig a lot further into lanuguage than that.

  • Actually, if you pay attention to the video itself... "kill" is the term used.

    As by Websters Dictionary:

    "Kill"

    1. To cause the death of; make die.

    2. To destroy the vital or active qualities of.

  • Some people are aware, but not many. I support the death penalty. I prefer it to cost more to kill someone than to let them live. That way there's no financial incentive to knock them off. You really have to believe in the justice of the death penalty if you're willing to pay more for it. I do regret the length of time it takes, though. I wish death penalty appeals were on the fast track. Innocent people would be freed faster and families of victims could move on sooner.

  • for people to know that the death penalty has flaws and that you can kill someone and they might not have been guilty and still want the death penalty just ain't right...

  • Actually, the correct translation is Do not murder, or thou shalt not murder if you prefer old English. Justified killing is not murder, otherwise you'd never be allowed to defend yourself. Whether or not you agree with the death penalty we shouldn't incorrectly assign meanings to words that have clear translations.
