In 1963-64 Robert Carl Cohen became the first American authorized by the US State Dept. & Cuban Foreign Ministry to film in Cuba. Three Cubans documents the effects of Castro's Revolution on an upper, middle, & lower economic class Cuban.

  • @jvarela965 Well.. has your grandfather ver been concearned much with the state of conditions for the poor, the dark skinned, those in opposition - anyone net driving Cadillacs for that matter. Had he been, he would have seen the other side of the argument, however flawed in long run those arguments might have been.

  • An interesting film. I noted that Corvette pulling away from the Havana Hilton. My grandparents were affluent in pre-Castro Cuba. My father told me in the early years it was common when a desirable car would roll by, Corvette, Mercedes, Thunderbird, Cadillac etc would roll by the Militiamen would flag it down and comendere it saying " Emergency Business" and the car was gone forever. Constant harassment to anyone who was educated looking was common in the regime's early days.

  • This movie is amazing. Unbelivable. I was searching for something like this, because I had so many unanswered questions. Thanks for posting. Any more like this???? Also, wouldn't be great if we could see a current version of "Three Cubans". Any film makers out there?
