@Yellyist but he was a senator at the time and that is what he preferred.

@clewi1091 - Definitely edited some stuff out... I heard that some of it was just cut out by the network sensors because it was too 'inappropriate'... stuff that would probably have made it in easily today.

Wonder what happened at the very end? It looks like they edited something out that was hilarious.

@verytallone ok. well. They always adress a higher offical servant by his highest rank, and Vice President Humprey was a Vice president that`s why i think he should be adressed as mr. Vice president. Cause it outranks a senator.
-
@Yellyist Because HHH later became the Senator once again for Minnesota and remained Senator until his death..
-
@Yellyist -This is because after he served as Lyndon Johnson's vise president he once again became Minnesota senator from January 3, 1971 to January 13, 1978 (his death). He was currently serving as senator at the time of the taping of this program.

Why do they adress Hubert Humphrey as mr. senator when he was Vice President?? Former VP`s are always adressed as mr. Vice President.
-
@libertatus I think i would pick a fucking monkey over a bastard like Dick Nixon.
-
Back when it was funny to act drunk instead of being Politically Incorrect. Back then was better.

"Instead of Tricky-Dicky you would've had Hubie-The- Boobie"
@mozman1111 Oh, you're so absolutely right! All the prerequisites you mention were crucial to his comedy, but everyone knows laughter is infectious. How the hell Mr. Brooks kept a straight face is more than I'll ever know!

You know you're great when they laugh before your routine even starts. R.I.P.
