  • "do you want to close your good engine's throttle just to verify?" You would Never close the good engine's throttle, only the dead engine throttle to verify the proper side before feathering the dead engine.

  • It's not a good idea to ram the throttle open like that, everything should be done smoothly. As for pumping the throttle fore and aft, presumably to verify which is the dead engine, this is also rushed and amateurish. A better technique is to slowly close the throttle of the suspected dead engine whilst confirming that this produces no yaw. The final criticism here is that at one point both pilots are manipulating the controls.

  • I did that once in cold weather and the damn thing almost didn't restart ... ;) 13,300 hours later we use simlators on the big jets ..

  • Mixtures, props, throttles, flaps, gear, identify, verify. If you lose your critical engine at 100AGL climbing out of a busy city airport with no runway ahead of you, do you want to close your good engine's throttle just to verify? You need to get that aircraft configured for maximum single engine efficiency and climbing WHILE you figure out which engine is out.

  • OMG U JUST MADE A GLIDER OFF A PLANE!!!

  • wooow... :)
