This three-part series focuses on the value proposition of EMB-S as well as the scope of emerging technologies and career opportunities in the field. It is based on the 2007 EMB-S conference in Lyon, France at which interviews with EMB-S leaders focused on the scope and emerging technologies in the field, such as Neural Engineering, biomaterials and Biomechanics, Tissue and Cell Engineering

Brain and Cardiovascular Research, 3-D Multi-Modeling Image Processing, Medical Informatics, Biosensors, Bioinstrumentation, and DNA Mapping and Sequencing, and Rehabilitation Engineering. They discuss the importance of the Annual International Conference for members and career opportunities for young people.
