  • Outsource? Not true. What GE does is called expansion. For example, GE has its health care and oil&gas divisions headquarters abroad because they bought important companies there, not because they outsourced anything.

  • @xaviqaz I am not a congresswoman so I do not know all the details of the GE deals, I would have to rely on what Dennis Kucinich said on O'Reilly, GE did export 20% of the jobs, that's a huge number and many more during this time of high unemployment, furthermore Kucinich said more jobs will be lost due to the ripple effect. Now Jeffrey Immelt is the prez of the job council, we should all be outraged.

  • It is not expansion. They are shutting their plants here and laying people off to hire people in other countries to do the exact same job

  • @CuchiBella7 Maybe they exported jobs in the past but from the 2008-2009 crisis there are more GE jobs in America than before. Many western companies have moved jobs and production to emergent countries. Or "cheaper" neighbor countries: if many US companies create jobs in Mexico, many german and french companies create them in Hungary, Poland, Romania... What can you do? For example, It´s Airbus (not Boeing) who has created a final assembly plant in China and its increasing its production.
