Thanks to the health centre in Darbonne and Malteser International's mobile clinic working in the hinterland, more than 30,000 people, among them many mothers and children, have already received medical treatment.
Since the outbreak of cholera the medical team regularly informs the villagers about this fatal disease and explains prevention measures. Especially because of the cholera epidemic, access to basic health care is essential and a question of vital importance, but it cannot necessarily be taken for granted.
