the life span of a monarchy has ended .. Its clear now they can be good rulers , OR Bad . the Risk is far less when a group of opposing view points temp rule. with a tie breaker being a flip of the coin.. So no stagnation. and things geep moving forward. Someday computers will do it all and we will learn to respect the inhuman side for the kowledge of a perfect system

Charles didn't seem to understand that he couldn't be absolute monarch because he wasn't as caring about his people. Elizabeth and Henry VIII managed to rule as much as they did because to the people, Elizabeth and Henry actually CARED about the people and showed it. They interacted with the people and made it clear that the people came first.

So this is why Kings and Queens of England used to cut the head off anyone who whispered disloyalty, let alone began to raise an army. The monarch's head might be the one lost if they didn't. Cromwell had a lot of nerve!
