What if our most powerful weapons were ideas?

"Debate encourages Enemy".
Here I thought I'd never hear a more telling statement than the oft-repeated Mr. Hannity catch phrase, X thing he doesn't approve of" "emboldens" our enemy" Aside from the arrogance fueling the idea of "OUR" enemy, as though he or anyone else stands as the sole arbiter of who all others are supposed to revile?
This reasoning is making 1984 downright jealous.

people always say that. "those leftists attack their own country". There is no "my country", their's my nation, a collective identity that I prescribe to ("I am an American") and their is the state which governs me. The state is only a group of laws, actions and people who make/execute them, some might make sense, but many are stupid. It only makes sense to dislike and argue something to right a wrong.

So Congressional debates encourage the enemy but our president saying "Bring 'em on" to insurgents doesn't?

Guess what, lots of people have said it. Its not the debate that causes problems, but the democrats attacking their own country that hurts. Hell, Michel Ware of CNN said the EXACT same thing.
